Job Description
Havenwood Academy operates a Residential Treatment Facility dedicated to providing delicious, nutritious meals for our 55 clients. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Assistant Chef to work alongside our Chief Chef in creating a world-class food program. Meals must comply with the Utah Child Nutrition Program dietary standards. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to directly impact the well-being of our clients through food.

Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: Sunday 10:00 am - 6: 00 pm, Monday 11:00 am -6:00 pm, Tuesday 8:30 am-3:30 pm, Wed 11:00 am-6:00 pm, (26 to 28 hours/week)
- Salary: $17.00 per hour while in orientation and then $20.00 an hour after training is finished.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete outlined daily duties as assigned by the Chief Chef.
- In conjunction with the Chief Chef, prepare a minimum of 15 meals and 10-15 snacks per week.
- Ensure houses have adequate ingredients and tools to prepare weekend and holiday meals.
- Comply with all food and health safety standards.
- Demonstrate patience and a willingness to work with difficult clients.
- Be willing to take calls and messages after hours in case staff need assistance preparing food.
Required Skills & Experience
- Food Handlers Permit or willingness to complete one within 30 days of hire.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Experience managing aspects of a culinary experience, including menu creation, preparation, and serving.
- Experience complying with sanitation and safety regulations, with familiarity in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) preferred.
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day and lift food products and other heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record for food transportation.
- TB Test required.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with Utah Child Nutrition Program compliance.
- Formal culinary training or education.
- Experience or education with basic nutritional principles.
- Clerical and organizational skills are a plus.
