Job Description
ABOUT BLUE PEAK TENTS
Blue Peak Tents is a fast-growing event infrastructure company based in Batavia, IL. We provide tenting, flooring, restroom trailers, generators, HVAC, and related services for corporate events, weddings, festivals, and large-scale productions across the Chicagoland area.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a CDL driver who wants to do more than drive. As a Fleet Technician, you'll transport our event equipment fleet — restroom trailers, generators, HVAC units — to event sites across the Chicago area. When you're not on the road, you'll work alongside our Fleet Equipment Technician in the warehouse, learning how to maintain and troubleshoot the equipment you haul.
Over time, you'll develop the skills to handle basic field troubleshooting independently. For the right person, this is a clear path into a technical career in event equipment operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Transport & Delivery
• Drive restroom trailers, generators, HVAC units, and event equipment to and from sites
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on every run
• Coordinate with on-site contacts, communicate status updates, and adapt to site conditions
• Inspect equipment on pickup and report any damage or issues
Warehouse & Equipment Learning
• Work alongside the Fleet Equipment Technician on non-driving days
• Assist with restroom trailer prep, generator maintenance, and HVAC system checks
• Support equipment staging, cleaning, and organization as needed
Field Troubleshooting (Developed Over Time)
• Use SOPs and field guides to diagnose and resolve common equipment issues at sites
• Communicate with the FET for guidance on issues beyond current skill level
• Document field issues and resolutions to support ongoing improvement
Requirements:WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
• Valid CDL (Class A, B, or C) with a clean driving record
• Experience operating commercial vehicles and towing trailers
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to learn equipment maintenance and troubleshooting — not just driving
• Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable with schedule changes during event season
Preferred
• CDL Class A (or willingness to work toward it — we may sponsor training)
• Experience towing large trailers (restroom, equipment, flatbed)
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools
• Background in events, rental, construction, or logistics
• Bilingual English/Spanish (helpful but not required)
SCHEDULE
Off-season (Nov–Apr): Monday–Friday, standard hours.
Event season (May–Oct): 5–6 days/week including weekends. Overtime is standard during peak season.
