This role sits at the intersection of modern software engineering and mission-driven civic healthcare transformation. You will help design and build scalable, cloud-based systems that support national program integrity efforts across Medicare and Medicaid. Working on a modernization initiative, you will contribute to rebuilding a critical platform into a secure, high-performance, and interoperable system used for case management, investigations, and fraud prevention. The environment is highly collaborative, remote-first, and focused on meaningful public health impact. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust full-stack solutions that improve usability, data flow, and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications that support large-scale healthcare program integrity operations, while contributing to modernization and cloud transformation efforts.
- Build and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript/Angular
- Contribute to the modernization of legacy systems into cloud-based, high-performance architectures
- Develop secure, reliable, and testable code with strong unit-test automation practices
- Integrate backend services, APIs, and relational databases to ensure seamless system functionality
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins
- Monitor system performance and reliability using observability tools like New Relic, CloudWatch, and Splunk
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and government stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions
- Support database optimization and performance tuning, particularly in PostgreSQL environments
- Ensure compliance with security, scalability, and federal system requirements
You bring strong full-stack engineering experience with a focus on enterprise-scale systems, cloud technologies, and healthcare or government environments.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering or full-stack development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Strong hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript/Angular
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
- Proficiency with relational databases and data modeling (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience working with observability and monitoring tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, New Relic, etc.)
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-based application development
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex, regulated environments
- Experience in healthcare technology or large-scale enterprise systems is highly preferred
- Knowledge of FHIR, AI/ML, or performance tuning is a plus
- Must meet eligibility requirements for U.S. government clearance (U.S. citizenship or green card, residency history, and Public Trust clearance eligibility)
