As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Beacon Recycling’s Grand Rapids location, you’ll operate material handlers and heavy equipment to lift, load, and sort scrap metal safely and accurately. Your day includes completing pre-start inspections, handling materials with control and precision, and keeping the yard organized and clean. You’ll follow established safety procedures, assess loads, and ensure equipment is used within safe capacity limits. You’ll also assist customers during unloading and provide clear, helpful information when needed. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to doing the job correctly.
