JOB SUMMARY:
This position is an entry level position on the Hang Line Riveter. Employees will be required to follow direction from Hang Operator, work harmoniously with all employees on the line, and perform their functions at the speed of the machine. Employees will be required to check quality of binder flats, orient them correctly into the Hopper, and keep a count of scrap. Employees will be required to nest binders together, as per Work Order/Bill of Operations/Customer Requirements. Employees will be required to know how to pack nested binders into cartons and utilize machine tape tunnels. Employees will be required to ensure bar codes, if required, are oriented properly. Employees will be required to rotate positions throughout the day and maintain ergonomic techniques while performing repetitive motions. Employees are required to keep the area clean and tidy, as much as possible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work at the assigned position for the allotted time and rotate as per directive of Operator and Automation Supervisor. (3 Primary Positions, see below)
2. Load raw binder flats from a pallet into the Hang Line flat hopper.
3. Nest riveted binders into proper orientation to be placed into cartons.
4. Load riveted binders, with shrink-wrap or without, into cartons per Work Order directions.
5. Build cartons, add carton labels, and load empty cartons onto machine for packers.
6. Communicate with material handlers, operators, fork-lift drivers, team leaders, maintenance personnel, and supervisors on constraints, status, and flow of work orders on the floor.
7. Must be able to solve problems and communicate well.
8. Verifying every work order is being created EXACTLY AS REQUIRED on the Bill of Operations and Bill of Materials of the Work Order.
Requirements:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Previous manufacturing experience (preferred)

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, & divide in a unit of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions & decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Ability to read a tape measure and use a calculator.
- Must have good visual ability to identify quality and safety issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on equipment maintenance
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, or platforms
- Bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and crawl to access machinery
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Distinguish colors on wiring or indicators
- Adequate hearing to detect abnormal machine noises or alarms
- Comfortable working in hot or cold environments
