Job Description

VP, Product Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Product Management based in the United States.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity focused on shaping the future of portfolio management technology and personalized investing at scale.
You will own the strategy and roadmap for sophisticated UMA, SMA, multi-sleeve portfolio construction, trading, and rebalancing capabilities.
The role serves as the subject-matter authority connecting investment operations, wealth management, technology, and client needs.
You will work closely with engineering, design, portfolio managers, asset managers, and wealth management organizations to turn complex investment workflows into scalable products.
Your decisions will influence solutions used across broker-dealers, RIAs, TAMPs, bank trust programs, and asset management environments.
The position combines strategic product ownership with deep domain expertise, client engagement, and hands-on roadmap prioritization.
It is an opportunity to shape sophisticated financial technology while working in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for UMA, SMA, and multi-sleeve portfolio construction, overlay trading, rebalancing, and related portfolio management capabilities.
  • Translate complex portfolio management operations—including trading discretion, sleeve- versus account-level rebalancing, cash coordination, tax overlays, and performance attribution—into clear and actionable product requirements.
  • Serve as the internal subject-matter expert on UMA structures, including sleeves, base sleeves, overlay managers, manager-traded sleeves, flexible models, and their interaction with household-level asset-location rebalancing.
  • Partner with engineering and design teams to architect scalable, configurable solutions that support large wealth management programs as well as asset manager and overlay manager workflows.
  • Work directly with portfolio managers, overlay managers, asset managers, and wealth management clients to gather requirements, validate concepts, and continuously improve delivered solutions.
  • Maintain close alignment with internal portfolio management stakeholders to ensure the product roadmap reflects practical, day-to-day investment management requirements.
  • Define and prioritize the product backlog, balancing strategic platform investments with client-specific requirements, regulatory commitments, and broader business priorities.
  • Represent portfolio management capabilities in client and prospect discussions, RFPs, executive business reviews, and other high-level commercial engagements.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Relationship Management, Client Delivery, and other cross-functional teams to support successful client adoption, implementation, and platform expansion.
  • Monitor developments in managed accounts, direct indexing, tax management, multi-manager portfolio construction, and related investment technology trends, translating market developments into product investment decisions.
  • Partner across service, marketing, sales, account management, engineering, and other functions to understand market needs, launch new capabilities, and drive product adoption.
  • Contribute to a culture centered on collaboration, positive energy, continuous learning, ownership, and shared success.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, investment technology, or a related discipline within wealth management or asset management.
  • Deep understanding of managed-account structures and investment operations, including UMA sleeves, overlay management, account- and sleeve-level trading discretion, rebalancing engines, tax transitions, tax-loss harvesting, and performance attribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate sophisticated investment and operational concepts into product requirements and intuitive user experiences for portfolio managers and external wealth management clients.
  • Experience delivering technology platforms or capabilities to broker-dealers, RIAs, TAMPs, wealth management firms, or similar distribution channels.
  • Strong track record partnering with engineering and design teams to develop and launch complex, scalable financial technology solutions.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with Sales, Marketing, Client Delivery, Service, Account Management, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with confidence presenting to clients, prospects, portfolio managers, and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CFA, CIMA, or a comparable investment credential is a plus.
  • Familiarity with portfolio optimization and rebalancing technologies such as Northfield, BARRA/Axioma, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Experience integrating portfolio optimization engines into automated, rules-based trading and rebalancing workflows is highly desirable.
  • Background with a wirehouse, broker-dealer, RIA aggregator, TAMP, asset manager, or another organization delivering tax-managed investment solutions is advantageous.
Benefits:
  • Salary range: $200,000–$250,000 USD, with compensation determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, job scope, and location.
  • Comprehensive total rewards package.
  • Company-paid medical premiums covering 90%.
  • Competitive time-off program.
  • Additional variable compensation opportunities, where eligible.
  • Remote work flexibility.
  • Opportunity to work on sophisticated portfolio management and financial technology solutions serving the wealth management ecosystem.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to diversity, collaboration, and equal opportunity.
