Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Engineer (Structural Analysis) based in India.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced aerospace products through rigorous structural engineering and analysis. You will perform static, vibration, thermal, and fatigue assessments of metallic aerospace structures using engineering fundamentals, hand calculations, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The role spans the full product development lifecycle, from design and validation through troubleshooting and field support. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and global, cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and deliver reliable engineering solutions. The position also offers exposure to aerospace standards, environmental qualification requirements, and customer-facing technical discussions. It is a hybrid role that combines technical depth, practical problem-solving, and opportunities for continued professional development.
- Perform static, vibration, thermal, and fatigue analyses of metallic aerospace structures using hand calculations and commercial FEA tools.
- Support structural engineering activities across the full product development lifecycle, including design, development, validation, qualification, and field troubleshooting.
- Conduct detailed engineering calculations and FEA studies to evaluate structural integrity, performance, and compliance.
- Apply aerospace engineering standards and DO-160G requirements when performing structural and environmental analyses.
- Investigate field observations and technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop practical corrective solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, engineering presentations, and cross-functional problem-solving activities.
- Prepare accurate, clear, and technically robust engineering reports, analysis documentation, and supporting technical deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal engineering functions and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions within project schedules.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering methods, processes, tools, and analysis practices.
- Support knowledge sharing and technical development within engineering teams while applying established methodologies and best practices.
- Where applicable, contribute to FEA automation and engineering productivity initiatives using programming and scripting technologies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM/engineering discipline.
- Approximately 3–6 years of relevant experience performing structural analysis of metallic components, including static, vibration, thermal, and fatigue assessments.
- Strong hands-on experience with engineering hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience with at least one commercial FEA platform, preferably ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS Icepak, or ANSYS Sherlock.
- Strong understanding of Strength of Materials, structural mechanics, and classical engineering analysis techniques.
- Practical knowledge of aerospace standards and DO-160G analysis requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate engineering documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence participating in technical reviews and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ownership, customer focus, attention to quality, and ability to deliver engineering work within defined timelines.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or another complex engineering environment is advantageous.
- Exposure to FEA automation using Python, C/C++, C#, or Visual Studio .NET is a plus.
- Experience working with global customers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, or customer-facing technical discussions is preferred.
- A Master’s degree with specialization or exposure to structural or engineering analysis is an advantage.
- Group health insurance coverage.
- Group term life insurance.
- Group personal accident insurance.
- 18 days of annual vacation plus 12 days of contingency leave.
- Meal coupons and meal-related benefits.
- Employee scholar and education support programs.
