Job Description

Remarketing Auction Representative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Remarketing Auction Representative based in the United States.

This role is responsible for managing repossessed vehicle inventory and auction vendor relationships across a regional market.
You will oversee vehicle assessment, reconditioning, valuation, sale preparation, and auction decisions to maximize net recovery.
The position combines automotive expertise, vendor management, market analysis, and operational decision-making.
You will work closely with auction partners and internal teams to ensure inventory moves efficiently and compliantly.
Success requires balancing vehicle value, customer and vendor performance, expenses, timing, and market conditions.
This is a largely remote, self-directed role that requires frequent coordination, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
The position offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact within a fast-paced automotive remarketing environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage repossessed vehicle inventory throughout the remarketing process, including transportation status, inspections, vehicle grading, reconditioning estimates, sale preparation, and approval of sale bids.
  • Monitor auction vendor performance, ensure adherence to established guidelines, identify deficiencies, and recommend or implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct on-site reviews of auction operations, inventory preparation, and sales effectiveness when required.
  • Organize and participate in regular vendor performance meetings, reviewing scorecards and reporting while coordinating follow-up actions.
  • Negotiate arbitration claims when necessary, consulting senior leadership on complex matters.
  • Identify market arbitrage opportunities and execute strategies designed to improve vehicle recovery and profitability.
  • Audit auction expenses and sale announcements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain appropriate reporting and documentation, including travel-related expenses, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with auction management, remarketing teams, and other internal functions to resolve issues and maintain efficient vehicle disposition.
  • Adapt to changing procedures, priorities, and market conditions while maintaining strong operational and compliance standards.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant automotive or vehicle remarketing experience, with demonstrated knowledge of wholesale remarketing channels.
  • Experience with vehicle valuation, reconditioning assessment, and vehicle condition evaluation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent college-level experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of regional and broader economic conditions, seasonality, and automotive market trends affecting used-vehicle pricing.
  • Familiarity with auction policies and practices; knowledge of NAAA auction policies is highly desirable.
  • Experience with frame assessment or condition report writing is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with auction vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working across multiple databases, web-based applications, and technology platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and automotive remarketing systems such as Daybreak, AutoIMS, RDN, Manheim Market Report, and CSAToday.
  • Adaptable and comfortable assimilating procedural or operational changes.
Benefits:
  • Annual total compensation range of $85,000–$92,000, with final compensation determined by factors including location, skills, experience, education, credentials, and applicable licenses.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance and Flexible Spending Account options.
  • 401(k) matching.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Program with company matching.
  • Wellness programs and daily team exercise opportunities.
  • Professional development through university, certification, and career-path programs.
  • Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
  • Employee discounts on parks, museums, movies, attractions, rental cars, wireless services, and technology purchases.
  • Employee loan assistance.
  • UKG Wallet access for pay advances.
  • Remote work arrangement based in the United States.
