CDL Boom Truck Driver / Knuckle-Boom Operator – $32–$36 per Hour in New York, New York at Prince Lumber

Prince Lumber is hiring an experienced CDL Boom Truck Driver/Articulating Boom Operator to deliver lumber and building materials throughout the Tri-state area. Candidates must have experience operating a truck-mounted articulating boom loader, knuckle-boom crane, or loader crane. Candidates must also hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL and a boom or crane operator certification.

This position pays $32 – $36 per hour, depending on experience. Employees are paid weekly, and frequent opportunities to work overtime may be available based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a boom truck and truck-mounted articulating boom loader.
• Load and unload lumber, plywood, doors, hardware, and other construction materials.
• Rig, hoist, and place heavy building materials at customer delivery sites.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse team to confirm that deliveries are complete and accurately loaded.
• Calculate load weights and crane capacities before operating the boom.
• Check clearances and surrounding conditions to prevent damage to buildings, utility wires, equipment, and property.
• Ensure truck loads comply with vehicle weight limits and DOT regulations.
• Inspect the truck, boom, rigging, and related equipment for safety or maintenance concerns.
• Follow DOT requirements, traffic laws, and company safety procedures.
• Plan efficient delivery routes throughout New York and the surrounding Tri-state area.
• Obtain required proof-of-delivery photographs and customer signatures.
• Pick up customer returns when assigned.
• Maintain a clean truck and keep equipment in safe working condition.
• Provide courteous and professional service during every delivery.

Required Experience

• At least two years of articulating boom loader, knuckle-boom crane, or loader-crane experience
• At least one year of boom-truck experience
• Experience rigging, lifting, and placing heavy materials
• Ability to calculate load weights, boom capacities, and operating clearances
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe commercial-driving practices
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL (required)
• Valid boom or crane operator certification (required)
