Position Summary:

The Quarry Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising employees, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:

1. Adheres to all safety rules, wears proper PPE and works safely on all jobs
2. Monitor material flow and report equipment issues.
3. Assist maintenance personnel during repairs and shutdowns to minimize down time.
4. Follow lockout/tagout procedures when required.
5. Maintain housekeeping standards in all quarry/mountain areas.
6. Supervise and coordinate daily quarry operations and personnel
7. Communicate with management regarding production, staffing, equipment, and operational issues
8. Train, lead, and coach employees
9. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including MSHA requirements
10. ASMG will supply tools to work, and ASMG work truck to complete regular routine and preventative maintenance for repairs.
11. Report immediately to Maine Aggregate Manager, any damage to the equipment or safety hazards or accidents.
12. Must be able to consistently lift and/or manipulate with push/pull force +/- 50 pounds.
13. Flexibility regarding schedule, working early and/or extended hours, weekends, and holidays when required.
14. While performing the duties of this position the incumbent is regularly required to stand for up to 10-12 hours (rest breaks as required by law will be provided), use hands, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, see, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and crouch.

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Previous experience in aggregate, mining, construction, or industrial operations preferred.
3. Strong mechanical aptitude, with welding and cutting experience preferred.
4. Computer proficiency and equipment operation experience are a plus.
5. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision in an extremely fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
7. Ability and willingness to travel as required.
8. Must successfully pass a physical examination and drug screening, as applicable.

Work Conditions

Incumbents must be able to tolerate moderate to loud noise level (PPE will be provided, including hearing protection as required), long hours, standing, walking, and laboring outdoors in varying weather conditions – frequently in extreme heat.
