Position Summary:
The Department of Enrollment Management and Student Success atUNM-Valencia is seeking a highly motivated person to join our recruitment andoutreach team.
The Student Recruiter will conduct outreach to prospectivestudents, including high school students, adult learners, and transferstudents. Responsibilities include visiting schools, community organizations,and businesses; delivering presentations; participating in college fairs,information sessions, and community events; and arranging and conducting campustours for students, families, and groups. The recruiter will maintainrelationships with school counselors, community partners, and campus departmentsto coordinate recruitment activities and respond to prospective studentquestions.
The recruiter will follow up with prospective students byphone, email, text, and other approved methods; assist with admissionsapplications; and connect students with financial aid, placement, registration,academic advising, and other enrollment services. The position will providegeneral information about academic programs and career pathways, referringstudents to academic advisors for formal advising. Additional duties includemaintaining prospective-student records, tracking recruitment activities, assistingwith reports, and supporting recruitment campaigns, materials, and specialprojects.
The successful candidate will demonstrate effective verbal andwritten communication, presentation, organization, problem-solving, anddatabase skills, along with the ability to work with diverse populations. Someevening and weekend work and regular travel throughout the service region,including Valencia, northern Socorro, and Torrance counties, are required. A valid driver's license is required for this position. This is a term position ending February 28, 2027, withpossibility for extension.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, TheUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of TheUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis onteaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit HighSchool/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty andstaff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.
