Workday HCM Business Systems Analyst (Virtual)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday HCM Business Systems Analyst (Virtual) based in United States.

The Workday HCM Business Systems Analyst will play a key role in optimizing HR technology solutions and ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of Workday systems.
This position partners closely with HR and IT teams to support system enhancements, data integrity, reporting, and process improvements.
The role combines technical expertise, business analysis, and stakeholder collaboration to improve the employee experience and strengthen HR operations.
You will help translate business needs into effective Workday configurations, workflows, and technology solutions.

Accountabilities:

The Workday HCM Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting, improving, and optimizing HR technology platforms while serving as a bridge between HR stakeholders and technical teams. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to data quality, and the ability to drive technology-enabled improvements.

  • Support Workday production operations, including system enhancements, configuration updates, troubleshooting, testing, and user support.
  • Perform functional testing, develop test scenarios, validate system changes, and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Create reports, conduct HR data audits, and maintain data accuracy and integrity across HR systems.
  • Investigate and resolve system issues, including data transfer challenges between HR platforms and external vendors.
  • Partner with IT teams on integrations, interfaces, and technology solutions that improve system interoperability.
  • Support HR initiatives such as performance management, talent reviews, and compensation planning through effective system execution.
  • Manage user access reviews and ensure appropriate security controls for HR data.
  • Execute employee data updates and bulk changes using Workday tools such as EIB.
  • Build strong relationships with HR and IT stakeholders to understand needs and recommend best-practice solutions.
  • Analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and champion technology-driven efficiencies.
  • Stay current on Workday capabilities, HR technology trends, and emerging solutions including AI-enabled tools.
  • Support implementation projects, including requirements gathering, configuration, documentation, testing, and user training.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines Workday expertise, HR technology experience, and strong communication skills to deliver reliable solutions in a collaborative environment.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HRIS, HR technology, application support, business systems analysis, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on Workday configuration experience.
  • Deep expertise in at least one Workday HCM module, including feature management and system upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and managing system improvements.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical, auditing, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with process improvement, documentation, and workflow optimization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and project management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across HR and IT teams.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a remote team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, computer science, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with project management or additional HR technology platforms such as UKG Pro is a plus.
