Position Summary:
The Department of Internal Medicine Office of Research isseeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Sr. Grants Coordinator tosupport the Department's sponsored research activities. This position providesadministrative and coordination support throughout the grant lifecycle,assisting faculty investigators and research teams with proposal preparation,submission tracking, award administration, and research operations.

The Sr. Grants Coordinator serves as a liaison among faculty,departmental staff, collaborating institutions, and central researchadministration offices to facilitate timely proposal submissions and effectiveaward management. Responsibilities include assisting with grant proposalassembly, maintaining proposal and award tracking systems, coordinatingcommunications and deadlines, managing grant-related documentation, supportingpost-award administrative activities, and assisting with departmental researchinitiatives and special projects.

The successful candidate will possess strong organizational,communication, and customer service skills, demonstrate attention to detail,and have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced researchenvironment. This position plays an important role in supporting theDepartment's research mission and ensuring compliance with sponsor andinstitutional requirements.

The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressivedepartment with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide qualitywork in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation,training, and education. Through our collaborative work effort, we support thefaculty and enhance the missions of the department, school, Health SciencesCenter, and University.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting sponsored research administration, grants management, contracts, or research operations in a university, academic medical center, healthcare, or research environment.
  • Experience with electronic research administration systems such as grants.gov, eRA Commons, Cayuse, InfoEd, Banner, Hyperion, or similar systems.
  • Demonstrated experience tracking projects, managing deadlines, and maintaining complex records or databases with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including the ability to prepare reports and organize data.
