Senior Litigation Attorney

Weston Herzog LLP is an established California litigation firm seeking an experienced
attorney to join its civil litigation practice. Our attorneys manage a sophisticated and
consistently active caseload in a collaborative environment that values exceptional

Position Overview
The Senior Litigation Attorney will independently manage complex civil litigation matters
through every stage of the litigation process while serving as primary counsel for clients
and a trusted resource within the firm.
Responsibilities
• Independently manage complex civil litigation matters from inception through
resolution
• Develop litigation strategy and oversee execution throughout the life of each case
• Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate
representatives
• Prepare for and represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trial
proceedings
• Provide strategic legal counsel, case evaluations, and regular reporting to clients
• Analyze legal and factual issues to develop effective litigation and resolution
strategies
• Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with legal staff to support successful case
outcomes
• Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and
practical legal guidance
• Accurately maintain billing records while effectively managing multiple complex
litigation matters
Qualifications
Required
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the California State Bar
• 10+ years of civil litigation experience
• Demonstrated success independently managing sophisticated litigation matters
• Extensive experience taking and defending depositions
• Strong motion practice, courtroom advocacy, and case management experience
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships
Preferred
• Trial experience through verdict
• Experience mentoring or supervising attorneys
• Portable business or business development experience is welcomed but not
required
• Familiarity with Clio, iManage, Forms Workflow, or similar legal technology
platforms
Billable Expectations
• Minimum of 150 billable hours per month
• Annual target of 1,800+ billable hours
• Accurate and timely daily timekeeping
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $175,000–$225,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
