Job Description

The Medix Educator will be responsible for assisting in the design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of education and competency programs for Medix Infusion across a national network of clinics. This role ensures that all personnel meet or exceed standards of care through a combination of didactic instruction, skills simulations, and hands-on clinical education.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, has relevant experience with a passion for leading education initiatives and promoting evidence-based practice in the outpatient infusion setting.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist to Develop, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive onboarding, continuing education, and competency-based education for staff within Medix.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual education sessions using a variety of instructional methods (didactic lectures, hands-on demonstrations, skills labs, simulations, and e-learning).
  • Coordinate and lead hands-on skills education in areas such as vascular access device management, biologic infusions, emergency protocols, infection control, and specialty drug administration.
  • Organize and host regional and national clinical education events and boot camps in collaboration with local and national leadership.
  • Conduct clinical site visits to assess staff competencies and support practice improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation of staff education, certifications, and education records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure standardization and regulatory compliance of practices and protocols across Medix.
  • Stay up to date with evidence-based guidelines, infusion standards (e.g., INS, ONS), and regulatory bodies (e.g., CMS, ACHC).
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to all clinical staff within the organization including managers, preceptors, and staff.
  • Participates in the quality management program, developing education plan in areas identified for improvement.
  • Educates staff on electronic medical record system.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • If a Registered Nurse (RN) must have an active, unrestricted license in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Nursing, Nursing Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in infusion therapy or ambulatory care settings, or related field experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in nursing education, clinical education, other educational roles, or preceptorship roles.
  • Strong knowledge of infusion therapy, vascular access devices, safe medication administration practices, or previous experience with MIQ and system requirements.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using digital learning platforms, MS Office Suite, and clinical documentation systems.
  • Ability to learn new educational platforms and integrate technology into learning needs/requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% nationally, including overnight stays.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in nursing, Nursing Education, or related field.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI®), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®), Immunoglobulin Certified Nurse (IgCN), or other certification designation.
  • Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) if you are an RN
  • Previous experience providing educational programs.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions when traveling
  • Frequent travel by air and ground transportation required.
  • Remote work environment when not on-site or education.
  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate time zones and clinic operations.
