This role offers the opportunity to shape quality engineering practices across a modern, fast-evolving digital platform operating at scale in the online marketplace space. You will play a critical role in ensuring product reliability, performance, and user experience across web and API-driven systems used by global customers. Working in a fully remote environment aligned with Eastern Time, you will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle. The position blends hands-on manual testing with advanced automation, requiring strong technical depth and a proactive, improvement-driven mindset. You will contribute to building scalable test frameworks, enhancing CI/CD quality gates, and introducing modern testing approaches, including AI-assisted tooling. This is a highly collaborative role where your work directly influences product stability, customer satisfaction, and engineering efficiency.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring end-to-end product quality across web, API, and platform services while driving modern quality engineering practices across teams. You will design, execute, and evolve test strategies that improve coverage, reliability, and release confidence.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases covering functional, regression, and performance requirements across the platform
  • Perform manual and automated testing of REST APIs, web applications, and UI components, ensuring cross-browser and cross-device quality
  • Partner with engineering, product, and design teams to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and embed quality early in the development lifecycle
  • Build, maintain, and enhance scalable test automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines
  • Create and manage test environments, including test data strategies and database validation approaches
  • Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution and continuous quality improvement
  • Introduce and leverage modern tooling, including AI-assisted testing solutions, to improve efficiency and test coverage
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in software quality assurance with strong technical expertise in both manual and automation testing. You are comfortable working in complex, fast-paced engineering environments and can communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering roles
  • Strong experience testing RESTful APIs and modern web applications (e.g., React-based interfaces)
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language used for test automation and debugging
  • Experience testing across browsers, devices, and distributed systems in CI/CD environments
  • Familiarity with cloud-native and microservices architectures (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes preferred)
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
Benefits
  • 100% remote work within the United States
  • Competitive compensation package with quarterly bonus eligibility
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching
  • Paid parental leave
  • Supportive, collaborative team culture with accessible leadership
  • Opportunity to work on a large-scale, high-traffic digital marketplace platform
  • Access to modern engineering tools and continuous learning environment
