Environmental Compliance Consultants, Inc. (ECC) is seeking an Environmental Technician to support operations at the Naval Hazardous Materials Minimization Center (HAZMINCEN) located on Tinker AFB in Midwest City, Oklahoma. This position is part of a contractor team supporting Navy operations on the installation. The Environmental Technician will assist with the day-to-day management, distribution, inspection, recovery, and tracking of hazardous materials used by supported customers. This role is hands-on and requires attention to detail, safe work practices, strong communication, and the ability to follow established environmental, safety, and installation requirements. Primary responsibilities include supporting hazardous material inventory control, issuing and receiving materials, inspecting containers and storage areas, maintaining accurate records, assisting with material reuse or recovery efforts, and helping ensure hazardous materials are handled in accordance with applicable regulations, contract requirements, and ECC procedures.
This position requires an active Secret security clearance or the ability to successfully complete the applicable background check and application process to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety as number one, always acting in a safe manner.
- Stock hazardous material/waste containers in the correct locations and enter data into the government's Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management System (EESOH-MIS).
- Inspect and conduct inventory assessment of hazardous material storage lockers and storage areas.
- Issue, receive, deliver, and pick up hazardous materials to and from work centers.
- Barcode incoming hazardous materials.
- Verify the hazardous materials Authorized User List (AUL).
- Pick up incoming hazardous materials from supply locations.
- Maintain and provide safety data sheets (SDS).
- Receive and offload incoming hazardous materials from shipping entities.
- Input materials receipt documents in EESOH-MIS.
- Manage, maintain, and extend the shelf-life of materials.
- Operate light vehicles and equipment; trucks and forklifts.
- Perform operations on a military installation and in a restricted area.
- Clean up spilled materials.
- Share after-hours emergency phone responsibilities.
- Perform general warehouse operations, labor, and housekeeping duties.
- Maintain detailed data entry and record-keeping.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive client relations.
- Be a supportive and respectful teammate within ECC.
- Comply with the company's drug-free policy, including medicinal marijuana as this is a safety sensitive position.
- Accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
- Verifiable experience handling and managing hazardous materials as an Environmental Technician or in a similar role.
- Secret security clearance, or ability to obtain.
- Government EESOH-MIS experience is a plus.
- Possess or obtain a 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer software skills.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana.
- Ability to pass a government background check for military base access and security clearance.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass occupational physicals.
- Positive attitude, strict attention to detail, trustworthiness, and absolute integrity.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
