SA-TECH is submitting a proposal for the Ground-Based Electro-Optical Seep-Space Surveillance (GEODSS) Program. GEODSS is comprised of three geographically separated locations: Site 1 is located at Stallion Range, White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico (NM); Site 2 is located at the Naval Support Facility (NSF), Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT); and Site 3 is located on Mt. Haleakala, Maui Island, Hawaii (HI). The GEODSS system supports United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) and theater war fighters' requirements. The system detects, tracks, identifies, and reports on all man-made objects in Earth orbit within the telescopes’ field of view. The sites perform the mission using three 1-meter telescopes at each site. Operation and Maintenance support is 24x7x365 days per year.

If successful in winning the new GEODSS contract, SA-TECH is looking to hire an on-site Site Manager at the Maui GEODSS Site to manage the local operations.

Join our mission-driven leadership team! In this highly rewarding career opportunity, you'll be responsible for:

• Lead and oversee all contractor personnel and integrated Operations & Maintenance (O&M) functions at the site.
• Interface with company Program Manager and Program Management Office (PMO) staff, and corporate staff.
• Provide site-level leadership to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations, including managing staffing coverage, workforce integration, and organizational alignment. Serve as decision authority for after-hours operations and emergencies.
• Proactively coordinate with host-installation entities for mission readiness, inspections, and operational support.
• Coordinate with host-installation BOSS contractor on facilities maintenance, repairs and work orders.
• Serve as the on-site interface to local and external government customers, building effective working relationships and responding promptly to performance issues, outages, inspections, or emergency situations.
• Train and cross-train site personnel to ensure coverage across quality, security, logistics, facilities, and operational domains.
• Maintain mission support and continuity, ensuring staffing and technical readiness for space operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, quality, maintenance, and logistics protocols.
• Oversee coordination with the host installation to ensure smooth operations and integration.
• Anticipate and respond to incidents, outages, inspections, emergencies, and performance challenges promptly and effectively.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with site Government customers to address operational needs, concerns, and performance issues.

Work Conditions

• Assignment is located on a remote overseas island with a tropical climate characterized by high temperatures, significant humidity, and potential for inclement weather such as storms and heavy rainfall.
• Daily travel from sea-level to work site facility at 10,000 feet (via company-provided shuttle)
• 24/7 operational readiness, with an expectation of occasional after-hours support for incidents, exercises, deadlines, and travel obligations.
• Work with, and around, physical equipment, potentially in challenging outdoor/field conditions, requiring adaptability.
• Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to view computer monitors for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks that require such protective gear.

Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, program management, space operations, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must have three (3) years of experience in areas of remote geographically isolated, 24/7 mission-critical environments.
• Familiar with coordinating plans, work/shift schedules, maintenance and operations manuals and technical documentation, statements of work, and operating budgets.
• A commitment to maintaining a productive and collaborative working environment.
• Must have two years of experience managing and supervising an unionized workforce and in interfacing with union representatives.
• Strong preference for previous experience with space domain awareness and/or optical sensor operations. Demonstrated capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with organizational stakeholders in high-pressure environments.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience within technical services or operations and maintenance of electronic and/or optical instrumentation.
• Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance at a bare minimum prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment. An active Top Secret (TS) clearance is preferred.
• All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
