Technical Document Control & Product Data Management
Position Summary
Century is seeking a highly organized, technically minded, and detail-oriented Product Documentation Specialist to support the control, accuracy, and integrity of product specifications and technical documentation throughout the organization.
This position serves as a key technical resource for document control and product data management, maintaining the central repository of item-level product information essential to Century’s ongoing operations. The Product Documentation Specialist is responsible for managing product specifications, revision history, technical files, test documentation, and other product-related records to ensure that authorized and accurate information is available across Century’s operating systems.
This is a cross-functional role that works closely with Quality, Product Development, Manufacturing, Operations, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure technical product information is properly documented, reviewed, approved, revised, communicated, and retained.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, comfortable working with technical information, and capable of maintaining disciplined document-control processes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Document Control
- Maintain a centralized, controlled repository for product specifications, drawings, testing records, development documentation, technical files, and item-level product information.
- Ensure technical documents are current, accurate, appropriately authorized, and maintained in accordance with established document-control procedures.
- Maintain document revision history and ensure obsolete or superseded specifications are properly identified and controlled.
- Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and required approvals prior to release.
- Maintain accurate records of document revisions, approvals, effective dates, and supporting documentation.
- Support the development and continued improvement of document-control standards and processes.
Product Change & Revision Management
- Manage the Notice of Change process for product specifications and technical documentation.
- Receive and process authorized product revisions.
- Update applicable product specifications, documentation, files, and systems following approved changes.
- Maintain complete and accurate revision histories.
- Ensure product changes and authorized revisions are systematically communicated to appropriate departments and manufacturing partners as directed.
- Help verify that approved changes are reflected consistently across product documentation and internal systems.
Product Specifications & Technical Data
- Generate and maintain New Product Specifications and Testing Groups.
- Maintain accurate item-level technical information within applicable Century systems.
- Review product specifications and technical records for discrepancies or missing information.
- Assist internal teams in locating and interpreting controlled product documentation.
- Ensure product files and folders contain current product specifications, supporting documentation, test results, and revision information.
- Support ERP product-data review, validation, and testing as required.
Quality & Compliance Support
- Coordinate with the Quality Manager to ensure technical documentation supports:
- Critical-to-quality requirements
- Product inspection criteria
- Product testing requirements
- Regulatory requirements
- Product safety requirements
- Compliance standards
- Manufacturing and supplier quality requirements
- Create, organize, maintain, and complete CE technical files and third-party certification documentation.
- Maintain supporting test reports and other compliance-related technical records.
- Ensure new product test data and updated testing information are incorporated into controlled product files.
- Assist with key Quality functions, audits, documentation reviews, and special projects as directed.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Quality, Product Development, Operations, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and other departments to maintain accurate product information.
- Serve as a resource for questions involving product specifications, revision status, technical documentation, and controlled product data.
- Communicate technical and documentation changes clearly and accurately to internal and external stakeholders.
- Follow up on missing, incomplete, or conflicting product information to ensure documentation is resolved before final release.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to product documentation, data accuracy, and document-control processes.

- Ability to work with technical specifications, product measurements, test information, and manufacturing-related documentation.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding how products are designed, manufactured, measured, tested, and inspected.
- Ability to use or learn to use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices.
- Ability to compare physical product characteristics against technical specifications or documented requirements.
- Strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and function effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to manage multiple documentation requests and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn and effectively use ERP, product information, quality, and document-management systems.
- Ability to maintain confidential and controlled business information appropriately.
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred but not required:
- Technical document control
- Product documentation
- Manufacturing documentation
- Quality assurance or quality control
- Product development support
- Engineering documentation support
- Product data management
- Revision-controlled documentation
- ERP item maintenance
- Product specifications
- Testing documentation
- Regulatory or compliance documentation
- CE or third-party certification files
Candidates with experience in manufacturing, engineering support, quality, product development, or technical records management are encouraged to apply.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in product documentation, technical document control, quality, manufacturing, engineering support, product development, or a related environment is desirable.
- Experience working with technical specifications, controlled documentation, testing records, product data, or revision-controlled files is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, technical aptitude, and relevant work experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements
This position may require the employee to:

Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
10 Hours per day, excluding lunch. 40 hours per week.
