Job Description
Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional theater actors and stage managers in the United States, is hiring part-time Audition Monitors in its Chicago office. Actors’ Equity is a national union affiliated with the AFL-CIO. The Audition Monitors will be responsible individuals who lead a high-quality and organized audition experience. This is a part-time position. Auditions are primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Hours are based on the audition schedule and may vary from week to week. This position is located in Downtown Chicago.
Responsibilities:
- Work with actors, casting personnel, and others to facilitate the smooth running of Equity auditions
- Ensure that all rules governing audition procedures are followed
- Effectively organize and maintain audition materials
- Represent Equity at auditions and calmly and courteously enforce rules as necessary
- Must be reliable and show up on time as scheduled
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent customer services and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to learn and retain complex rules governing auditions
- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem-solve and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
- Must be comfortable speaking publicly
- Ability to remain composed and respond appropriately to varied personalities
- Knowledge and experience in theatre a plus
- Stage management experience a plus
- Ability to travel reliably and punctually to offsite audition venues as assigned.
Compensation:
19.00/hour
