Job Description
National Cathedral School seeks a proactive and self-directed assistant director of information technology who believes in the power of young women and is dedicated to nurturing their curiosity and potential. We are seeking to immediately fill this full-time position. The Assistant Director of Information Technology serves as the primary network administrator, ensuring the continuous stability, security, and performance of the organization's core technological infrastructure. In addition to overseeing daily network operations, this role acts as the lead systems administrator for deploying faculty/staff devices and other shared resources around campus including a VoIP phone environment and AV systems.
The ideal candidate:
- Proven experience managing enterprise network infrastructure, including switching, wireless access points, firewalls, fiber/copper infrastructure, internet connectivity, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Experience maintaining enterprise AV systems in large community spaces and classrooms.
- Proficiency in managing both Apple and Microsoft device environments.
- Ability to collaborate on and support campus safety and security systems, including access control and security cameras.
- Proactive approach to maintaining technology that enhances teaching and learning for grades 4–12.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across educational, administrative, business, and facilities teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for authoring technical documentation, presenting, and managing key stakeholders and vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Director of Information and Academic Technology while partnering with a multifaceted group of specialists in IT, academic tech, instruction, and professional development.
- Function as lead network administrator, safeguarding the security, reliability, and robust operation of all campus infrastructure. Assists with cybersecurity, threat mitigation, and disaster recovery planning.
- Oversee key enterprise solutions including HPE Aruba (networking), Sophos (firewall, MDR, NDR, mail security), Mosyle (Apple device MDM), Zoom (VoIP and conferencing), Google Workspace, and safety and security systems (Verkada, AlertUS).
- Deliver escalation-level help-desk assistance, complex troubleshooting, and escalated technical resolution across campus.
- Maintain availability during non-business hours when necessary to ensure uninterrupted critical operations.
Salary and Benefits:
The full time salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 The exact salary is determined based on experience. Benefits available include medical, dental, life insurance, retirement plan with a school contribution, free parking or transit benefits, and lunch without charge (when students are in session), as well as support for professional development experiences. Additional stipends are available for coaching middle or upper school sports.
