Overview

University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

The Administrative Manager drives the strategic and operational excellence of administrative functions to support departmental and institutional objectives. Oversee and direct a broad range of activities and projects including event development, donor interaction reporting, financial budgeting, and communications within the office of the Senior Vice President (SVP) of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR). Monitor progress on strategic goals to ensure effective results. Provide comprehensive oversight of administrative operations, ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day activities and ensure alignment with the organization’s broader mission. Act as the principal liaison for administrative matters, fostering productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Oversee the collaboration efforts related to all domestic and international travel for the Suite, donor hospitality/gifts, and other related matters. Assess and resolve non-routine requests; prioritize requests and issues for the leader’s attention.

Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Must include experience with budget administration, office management, planning and implementing activities and events

Preferred Experience:
3+ years experience in an academic or non-profit setting

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Expertise in office management, administrative processes, and systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, clients, and team members

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to meet deadlines

A demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, while remaining adaptable and proactive

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and experience with financial software (travel and expense platforms, etc.) and databases

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of fundraising and relationship management systems



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $86,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
