Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a ColdFusion Developer based in Netherlands.
This is a fully remote opportunity for a senior ColdFusion developer supporting a critical 12-month engagement for a high-traffic marketplace platform in the DACH region. You will play a key role in maintaining and stabilizing a production environment built on ColdFusion/Lucee and hosted on AWS. The position combines application support, production troubleshooting, cloud infrastructure, and business-critical integrations. You will work with marketplace, ERP, payment, and external partner systems while helping maintain platform reliability during a broader technology migration. The role is focused on essential maintenance and critical development rather than introducing new features to the legacy platform. It is well suited to an experienced engineer who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively to high-impact production incidents.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and stabilize the existing ColdFusion/Lucee production platform.
- Handle approximately 8–12 support tickets per week, including bug fixes, maintenance activities, and technical investigations.
- Investigate and resolve support escalations affecting sellers, buyers, and other platform users.
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure, handling approximately 1–2 infrastructure tasks per week.
- Support business-critical development projects and overdue integrations during the migration period.
- Develop and maintain integrations with partners, ERP platforms, external APIs, and marketplace systems.
- Work with integrations including JTL, eBay, Google Merchant Center, and other business-critical services.
- Diagnose and resolve issues affecting platform availability, payment processing, integrations, and other critical services.
- Manage multiple technical workstreams and priorities independently.
- Respond to critical P1 production incidents, including outages, payment failures, and integration disruptions.
- Provide an initial response to P1 incidents within 30 minutes and work toward resolution within 2 hours.
- Create and maintain codebase and system documentation as formal project deliverables.
- Support the existing platform throughout its transition toward a modern technology stack.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with ColdFusion/Lucee in production environments.
- Strong experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting legacy ColdFusion applications.
- Experience working with marketplace platforms, high-traffic e-commerce environments, or similarly business-critical systems.
- Expert-level MySQL knowledge, including complex schemas and database structures.
- Strong AWS infrastructure knowledge combined with practical DevOps experience.
- Experience developing and supporting REST APIs and integrations with external marketplaces, ERP systems, partners, or other third-party services.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production incident-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and technical workstreams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to operate effectively in a production environment with competing demands.
- Willingness and availability to respond to critical production issues outside standard business hours.
- Ability to provide an initial response to P1 incidents within 30 minutes.
- Willingness to produce and maintain detailed codebase and system documentation.
- Availability for a full-time 12-month engagement.
- Experience with payment systems, marketplace integrations, or technology migration projects is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, problem-solving mindset.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary.
- Fully remote position.
- Full-time 12-month engagement.
- Opportunity to work on a high-traffic marketplace platform serving the DACH region.
- Hands-on exposure to ColdFusion/Lucee, AWS, MySQL, DevOps, APIs, and complex integrations.
- Opportunity to contribute to a significant technology migration from a legacy platform toward a modern technology stack.
- Work across marketplace, ERP, payment, partner, and external API integrations.
- High-impact production engineering responsibilities involving platform stability and critical incident response.
- Opportunity to work independently across multiple technical workstreams.
