Overview

The Expeditor’s primary duty is to ensure that all orders are accurate, prioritized by time and location, include all specialty shopping items, include all items, accouterments – are free of allergens, are HACCP compliant, and are packaged, labeled and delivered on time and to the accurate location.

Responsibilities and Associated Duties

The Expeditor is responsible for prioritizing orders, pulling and packing orders, quality assurance, order completeness, appropriate packaging and labeling, delivery timing, miscellaneous procurement, and the overall compliance with menu specifications associated with Top Notch orders. The Expeditor is responsible to verify that food quality and specifications match the kitchen issued specification. The Expeditor is responsible for prioritizing orders, pulling and packing orders, quality assurance, order completeness, appropriate packaging and labeling, delivery timing, miscellaneous procurement, and the overall compliance with menu specifications associated with Top Notch’s orders.

  • The Expeditor is responsible to carefully check all food quality, check against specifications and to ensure that the food matches the presentation provided in the specification as provided.
  • Additionally, the Expeditor will participate in the process of directly serving the Top Notch’s customers by phone, email and in-person (as applicable) and obtain feedback from them regarding our product and service.
  • The Expeditor is responsible to relay feedback and suggestions to the Executive Chef or General Manager to continue to monitor, maintain and improve quality as a primary responsibility in this role.
  • They will be the central kitchen captains of quality and accuracy – as well as the on-site problem solver in the event of situations arising that require immediate action.
  • The Expeditor has the authority in this role to make decisions to require that food be remade, re-displayed or otherwise modified to meet the client’s needs.
  • The Expeditor will solve all issues following company procedures related to customer quality, satisfaction, safety, and cost.
  • Further responsibilities may include picking up supplies as needed in the course of business and routine vehicle cleaning and maintenance.
  • Understand and maintain quality control and food-safety procedures of food product during delivery.
  • Under the direction of the General Manager, i.e., maintain partnership with drivers by conducting communications, ongoing training, telematics monitoring, cell-phone checks, and other servicing. Expeditor will check to ensure that all vehicles are well maintained, impeccably clean (inside and out) vehicles by utilizing self-service car washes.
  • Carry cell phone at all times and communicate with Catering Specialists (where applicable) as required or needed.
  • Dress professionally and within the guidelines of Top Notch’s procedures including the company approved uniform.
  • Assist with the assembly of silverware units and stocking of items in the kitchens while maintaining the shopping lists, runs at least 3-days in advance of delivery – and maintain the “shopping shelf” where retail items are held for fulfillment.
  • Meet weekly with the GM to ensure Top Notch'S standards and procedures are accurately reflected in their day-to-day operations.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and drive in compliance with all local and federal laws and regulations.
  • Dress professionally and within the guidelines of Company procedures including the company approved uniform.
  • Carry telephones/radios at all times when on duty out of the office and communicate with your local operation and the company call center as required or needed.
  • Cross-train to be able to prepare or produce food in the kitchen, or drive, as secondary duty when business is slow and staffing shortages occur.
  • Will be responsible as secondary administrator to enter Locker/other invoices in the system, process alcohol receipts, vehicle registrations, badges and other fulfillment related items as per the GM’s direction.
  • All other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Executive Chef.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Previous face-to-face customer service experience in the aviation, food services, or hospitality industry is essential.
  • Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as be proficient in email, Internet use, and basic office software programs.
  • Prior knowledge of aviation terminology preferred, FDA Regulations and safe food handling required.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency at all times and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to details.
  • Prior hospitality/food Expo and delivery experience preferred.
  • The Expeditor must have an excellent driving record, and be able to pass a FAA on-ramp security clearance and pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Candidates may be based in either Phoenix or Scottsdale location.
