Logistics Specialist in West Caldwell, New Jersey at JAK Diversified II INC

The Logistics Specialist supports daily warehouse operations with primary responsibility for hands-on floor activities, finished goods inventory, truck loading, and coordination of outbound drivers. The role also performs required office and documentation duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Summary:

Responsible for the accurate movement, storage, identification, and shipment of finished goods; weekly inventory counts; driver coordination; pallet tags; warehouse logbooks; and associated shipping and inventory records. The majority of the workday is spent on the warehouse floor.

Essential Functions:

• Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely to move, stage, store, and load product.
• Manage finished goods inventory, warehouse locations, product identification, and material accuracy.
• Conduct weekly physical inventory counts; reconcile variances and report discrepancies to the Logistics Manager.
• Coordinate arriving drivers, dock assignments, and adherence to facility procedures.
• Verify bills of lading, packing lists, driver documentation, and other required shipment records.
• Create, print, and apply pallet tags; maintain accurate outbound and inventory documents.
• Coordinate finished goods transfers and communicate issues to Quality Assurance and other departments.
• Identify and report damage, inventory discrepancies, equipment concerns, and unsafe conditions; maintain orderly docks and storage areas.
• Load outbound trucks; verify pallet counts, product identity, and shipment condition.

Nonessential Functions/Demands:

Assist with special inventory projects, warehouse organization, and additional office or logistics assignments as directed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification and safely operate a forklift.
• Experience loading trucks, handling palletized freight, and performing physical inventory counts.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills; ability to maintain pallet tags, logbooks, and shipping documents.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail; able to work effectively with multiple departments.
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) is a plus.
• High school graduate with shipping, receiving, and inventory management experience in a manufacturing company.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to walk or stand up to 90% of the time.
• May be required to work in narrow aisles or passageways throughout the warehouse.
• May occasionally kneel, climb, crawl, and/or reach to complete job duties.
• Comfortable working in warehouse conditions with varying temperatures.
• Must be able to work outdoors at times during inclement weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds frequently and 75 pounds on occasion.
