Position Summary:

The Institutional Service Assistant/Recycling Assistant is responsible for trash, litter, animal waste stations, and broken or discarded furniture by dumpster enclosures in all residential areas, on campus, and other areas as required. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the vision and guiding principles of the Finance and Administration Division, which are Fairness, Honesty, Respect, and Accountability.
• Perform outside custodial work assignments and other general work assignments in a professional and courteous manner.
• Work with the team or individually on work assignments for the assigned areas.
• Empty outside trash cans in the residence areas, pick up litter around dumpsters in the dumpster enclosure, and maintain animal waste stations.
• Pick up litter and debris along the roadways on campus.
• Pick up litter in the parking lot and all over campus; sweep up broken glass or debris found on the ground.
• Monitor maintenance on golf carts, checking for gas and oil before driving
• Follow oral and written instructions while working independently without close supervision.
• Wear the assigned uniform as designated in uniform policy
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive manual work, work independently without close supervision, follow instructions, perform multiple tasks and to prioritize assignments, perform manual work, and do required lifting (up to 50 lbs.)

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Other:

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a High School Diploma

Preferably possess a valid Driver's License
