Hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm, Flex per Employee Handbook
General Purpose: Home Creations, a family-owned builder in operation since 1981 with more than 19,000 homes delivered across our divisions, is adding a Sales & Construction Assistant to our Houston Division. This is an entry-level, high-visibility role for someone who wants to learn the homebuilding business from the inside. This is a great introduction to the sales functions and construction operations. This individual will spend four days a week staffing model homes covering Sales Consultants on their scheduled days off, holding the community open while managing a real cross-functional workload from the sales office. One day a week is spent in the division office. Over time this role builds a working understanding of every seat in the division.
Supervision Received: Works directly under the direction of the Division President and Area Sales Manager
Supervision Exercised: no direct reports
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Model Home Coverage
- Staff assigned model homes four days per week on the sales rotation schedule, providing consistent coverage on Sales Consultants' days off
- Greet walk-in Homebuyers and Realtors, capture visitor information, and hand qualified leads back to the assigned Sales Consultant for follow-up
- Represent the Home Creations brand with a calm, warm, advisory presence consistent with how our sales team engages Homebuyers
Model Home Operations
- Keep model homes stocked with supplies, sales collateral, printed floor plans, business cards, and refreshments
- Confirm model home technology (Wi-Fi, printer, iPad, TVs, security, HVAC, smart home features) is working before opening and troubleshoot day-of issues
- Escalate maintenance and repair needs to the appropriate Trade or Vendor Partner and follow through to completion
CRM & Sales Reporting
- Own day-to-day CRM implementation, data hygiene, and lead entry across the sales team
- Build and distribute weekly and monthly reporting on traffic, leads, and sales activity to division leadership
- Support Sales Consultants with follow-up sequences, template updates, and pipeline tracking inside the CRM
Closing Coordination
- Coordinate closings across Homebuyers, Sales Consultants, preferred lenders, and title companies, keeping every party aligned on dates, documents, and outstanding items
- Track loan milestones, appraisal and title timelines, and flag delays to sales and construction before they slip
- Confirm closing packages, disbursement authorizations, and post-closing handoffs to warranty and customer care
- Order Warranty Certification from 3 rd party Warranty Service. Ensure contact information and distribution of all customer surveys.
Permitting & Utilities
- Prepare and submit permit applications for new home starts and track approvals through municipal, MUD, and utility jurisdictions
- Set up temporary utilities at start of construction and coordinate permanent utility for homes under construction (electric, gas, water, sewer)
- Maintain a permitting and utilities tracker so construction and sales leadership always know status by lot
General

Minimum Qualifications:
Professional presence, strong written and verbal communication, and comfort greeting Homebuyers face-to-face
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams (closings, permits, CRM, model operations) in parallel
Working proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; ability to learn a CRM quickly
Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver's license; willing to travel between communities. Prior homebuilder, real estate, title, or mortgage exposure is a plus but not required

Work Environment: Temperature controlled office and model home environment. Some field work and walking potential clients through homes under construction, up to 20%. The noise level is moderately quiet unless on the jobsite.
Physical Demands: Often requires sitting for up to 8 hours per day and repetitive use of fingers for typing. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and to stoop or kneel. Must be able to carry equipment up to 30 lbs. Subject to driving to various locations in varying whether conditions. Safety sensitive position. Tool and Equipment Knowledge: Windows PC, telephone, printer/copier/fax, and other general office equipment.
