Job Description

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a faculty position at the interface of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. The position is anticipated at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level with an anticipated start date of 15 August 2027. We seek an outstanding scientist who will enhance and complement existing strengths in our broad-based, interactive biology department. Candidates working in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:

• Work at the interface of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, especially those with impacts on human physiology

• Specific topics of interest include super-high-resolution microscopy, lipid metabolism, lipid droplets, single-molecular tracking, and proximity-labeling proteomics

Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field and will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program, train graduate students, and actively participate in undergraduate science education.
