Description:

The Customer Service Ambassador is a part-time position reporting to the Director of Marketing for the Preservation Society. As an ambassador of the PS you will assist in a timely manner, customers and other persons and organizations outside the PS by answering phone calls to the general line, returning voice messages, and answering or forwarding emails sent to the info@newportmansions.org email address. A book of guidelines/procedures containing the most frequency asked questions will be available and updated as needed. This role is in-person at The Breakers. This is position is 2 days a week, flexible based on availability, and up to 10 hours a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Answer calls, messages, and emails in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize inquiries that need immediate attention.
  • Conduct customer and public relations in a courteous and professional manner that reflects the Preservation Society’s values and standards.
  • Maintain a file of answers to common questions to ensure such communications are prompt and consistent.
  • Maintain a file of links to pages on the Newport Mansions website to which customers are frequently referred.
  • Stay up to date on day-of & future events, operating hours, pricing and promotions.
  • Communicate with other departments as needed to answer public inquiries, including Visitor Experience, Special Events and Museum Affairs.
  • Be familiar with the roles and duties of employees in other departments so inquiries may be forwarded to the appropriate person(s).
  • Communicate to supervisor about frequent customer questions or problems that may need to be addressed by other means.
  • Follow prescribed safety and health rules, regulations and practices.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to consistently arrive at work on time and ready to begin duties.

• Ability to sit for extended periods.

• Ability to communicate with associates and guests.

• Ability to traverse throughout the office, building(s) in and out of doors and visit different levels of the building.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is in a quiet office setting.

The noise level is minimal.
