School Custodian-evening in LARAMIE, Wyoming at Laramie Montessori School Inc

Laramie Montessori Charter School is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where children and staff can thrive. This position focuses on afternoon and evening cleaning, building reset, and preparing the school for the next day.

The Evening Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining classrooms, restrooms, offices, common spaces, and the gym according to LMCS custodial standards. This shift performs the bulk of building sanitation, floor care, and trash removal after students and staff leave for the day.

Monday-Friday 3:00 pm-8:00 pm

• Clean and sanitize classroom desks, tables, chairs, sinks, and high-touch surfaces.
• Dust mop or sweep all hard-surface floors; damp mop classroom, hallway, and office floors.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas, ensuring debris is removed from edges, corners, and under desks.
• Clean and sanitize conference room tables and office surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains.
• Sanitize walls and high-touch areas throughout the building.
• Wipe down kitchen counters and the dishwasher area; ensure cleanliness before closing.
• Sweep entry areas and remove leaves or debris from vestibules as needed.

• Damp mop hard-surface floors in kitchen, counseling, and administrative offices.
• Shampoo carpet stains as needed.
• Clean all interior doors, entryway, and partition glass.
• Deep-clean toilets and urinals.
• Dust horizontal surfaces including windowsills, furniture, chairs, and shelving.
• Clean kick plates, light switch plates, and doorknobs.
• Straighten pots/pans shelves in the kitchen.

• Dust blinds, heaters, and high areas.
• Wash and coordinate laundering of kitchen rags.
• Shampoo carpeted corridors quarterly.
• Wash waste receptacles quarterly.
• Shampoo all classroom carpets semi-annually.
• Buff gym floor semi-annually.
• Adjust building clocks for Daylight Savings and replace batteries as needed.

• Prior custodial experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, mopping, vacuuming, and repetitive motion.
• Ability to work independently and follow a structured cleaning routine.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to maintain a positive, respectful demeanor with students, staff, and families.
• Must pass a background check per Wyoming school requirements.
