About the Role
CivilityMS is seeking a Business Analyst to support financial reporting, budget execution, financial data analysis, and operational reporting activities for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
This position serves as a key analytical resource supporting financial management operations through the development of reports, dashboards, trackers, and analytical products used to support management decision-making. The Business Analyst will leverage advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and financial analysis techniques to transform data into meaningful information that supports budgeting, reporting, performance monitoring, and operational planning.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, advanced Excel expertise, and experience supporting financial reporting or budget-related activities within complex organizational environments.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Minimum five (5) years of experience performing business analysis, financial analysis, budget support, reporting, or related analytical functions
• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, data modeling, automation, and data visualization
• Experience developing and maintaining financial reports, dashboards, trackers, and analytical tools
• Experience analyzing financial transactions, operational data, and performance metrics
• Experience supporting budget execution, financial reporting, or financial planning activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to summarize and communicate analytical findings to management and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting Federal Government financial management, accounting, budget, or reporting activities
• Experience supporting DHS, CBP, Treasury, USDA, or other Federal agencies
• Experience supporting budget formulation and budget execution activities
• Experience developing recurring management reports and executive-level briefings
• Experience utilizing Power BI, Tableau, Access, SAP, Business Warehouse (BW), or similar analytical tools
• Knowledge of Federal financial management principles and practices
• Experience supporting accounting operations, reconciliations, or financial reporting functions
Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and improve financial reporting tools, dashboards, trackers, and analytical products
• Analyze financial, operational, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Support budget formulation, budget execution, and financial reporting activities
• Develop recurring reports, charts, graphs, and management presentations
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality control activities
• Assist management with interpreting financial and operational data
• Support preparation of executive-level reports, briefings, and decision-support materials
• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and business needs
• Document reporting processes and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with special studies, ad hoc reporting requests, and analytical projects as assigned
Security Requirements
Ability to successfully obtain and maintain DHS suitability and all required CBP background investigation requirements.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
