Help New Mexico (HELPNM) was created in 1965 by the interdenominational New Mexico Council of Churches to support education in their community. Today, their legacy and impact carry on through HELPNM’s work as a fully-owned subsidiary of CPLC. The Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity (OLAO) provides services to children and families from birth to eight years of age. Our priority is to provide general services related to families in the areas of education, health and social/behavioral development. OLAO also provides an intentional, coordinated approach to strengthening the family unit and combines programming for children and adults in order to build strong and stable families.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a site and responsible for the supervision of up to 20 staff within HELP NM ECD.
- You will manage center operations and ancillary service needs, such as early childhood education services, calendars, staff schedules, supplies, and food service in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, CACFP requirements, NM Childcare Licensing requirements, and HELP NM ECD Policies and Procedures.
- You will work in coordination with Content Coordinators to promote school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position. Actively always supervises children by sight and sound and in all environments.
- You will maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment.
- You will facilitate health practices to keep children safe in indoor and outdoor environments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education/Background:
- Education & Years of Experience
- HSD/GED AND Child Development Associate (CDA) or be willing to obtain CDA within 6 months of hire required. Upon completion of CDA, must be willing to begin coursework toward obtaining a Bachelor’s degree.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience required
- Knowledge in managing program finance, budgets, data entry, use of computers and computer software programs is preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s license and Current Auto Insurance
- TB test or Chest X-ray
- NM ECECD Background Clearance
- First Aid/CPR Certified or must obtain within first 6 months of employment
- Applicants must obtain Food Handlers card upon hire
