Job Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team in the Medical Business at our Attleboro, MA site.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance, facilities, and contractor management activities within a fast-paced continuous etch manufacturing operation. This role ensures the reliability, safety, and performance of production equipment, chemical processing systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses extensive hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, pumps, motors, industrial utilities, facility maintenance, and managing contractor trades.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians.
- Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Prioritize maintenance activities to minimize production downtime.
- Develop maintenance schedules that support continuous manufacturing operations.
- Track equipment reliability metrics and implement improvement plans.
- Maintain and troubleshoot: Industrial pumps and systems, Electric motors and controls, Conveyor systems, Chemical processing equipment, Heat exchangers, Filtration systems, Water treatment equipment, Compressed air systems, HVAC equipment, Industrial controls and automation systems
- Coordinate repairs and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and manage maintenance of process piping, plumbing systems and electrical projects.
- Maintain facility infrastructure including Building systems, Roofing, HVAC, Lighting, Fire protection systems, Compressed air systems, Water and wastewater systems.
- Develop capital improvement plans and infrastructure upgrades.
- Coordinate and supervise outside contractors and service providers.
- Review contractor qualifications, safety programs, and work procedures.
- Obtain and evaluate project quotations and bids.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the maintenance organization.
- Support chemical handling, hazardous waste, and environmental compliance programs.
- Control maintenance costs while maximizing equipment reliability.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and equipment documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and extensive maintenance leadership experience will be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Minimum 4 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong experience supporting continuous manufacturing operations.
- Extensive experience managing contractors and multiple skilled trades.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metal etching, chemical processing, or related process industries.
- Experience with wastewater treatment systems and environmental compliance.
- Chlorine Safe Handling Training or Certification.
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies.
- Project management experience involving facility expansions or major equipment installations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Frequent walking, climbing stairs, and accessing production equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies outside normal working hours when required.
