Job Description
Summary of Position:
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for growth of sales and profitability of company products, including planning and implementing sales activities aligned with company goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
A. Sales
1. Achievement of Sales Goals and profitability objectives:
a. Sets sales targets in conjunction with company goals and objectives.
b. Research competitors and competing products and analyze data to identify sales opportunities, by monitoring online sales activity, analyzing sales figures, develop strategies to meet and exceed sales and profitability goals and reports results to supervisor.
c. Identifies current and future product needs for our valued customers.
d. Maintains continuous communication with brokers and customers related to product promotion.
e. Manage broker relationships in assigned territory.
2. Sales demonstrations:
a. Maintains all sales demonstration tools and applications.
b. Develops and delivers sales presentations in a professional and effective manner.
c. Develops technical presentations for existing and potential customers.
3. Collaborates with MBC Companies’ employees:
a. Works collaboratively with team members to create innovative ideas to promote new and existing products.
b. Works as a team player with all departments to ensure the highest levels of customer service are met and exceeded for all customers.
4. Maintain continuous communication with brokers:
a. Plans and conducts broker training and development.
b. Ensures brokers promote MBC Companies’ products to meet and exceed current and future demand in the market.
c. Works with brokers to get MBC Companies’ products spec’d/approved on K-12/Commodity bids.
B. Miscellaneous Tasks
1. Controls expenses, monitors and adheres to designated sales budget.
2. Plans, organizes, and coordinates food shows and annual conferences, including dinners with brokers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
3. Attends trade meetings and industry conventions, as needed.
4. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
5. Understanding of competitive pricing in particular markets.
6. Collaborates with the Operations Manager in the bids process.
7. Ensures proper and updated contracts are maintained for the sales region.

Education and Experience:
1. Must have Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Must have 5+ years sales and sales-support experience.
3. Must have proven track record in K-12 sales including bids and commodities management.
4. Excellent understanding of USDA nutritional standards.
5. Must meet efficiency standards in Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Office and other required technical skill areas.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
Requires constant travel, driving, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs. and carrying sales materials. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Expected Work Hours:
Some flexibility in work hours is allowed. The employee must be available during “core” business hours between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Travel:
Out-of-town travel is required based on the territory scheduled events.
