This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Advisor, Applications Development based in India.
This is a technology leadership role focused on designing, delivering, and supporting secure, scalable, and resilient business applications. You will oversee key stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, from technical design and development through implementation, support, and modernization. The role combines hands-on application expertise with strategic technology advisory responsibilities and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. You will help translate business needs into effective technology solutions while guiding architecture, integration, engineering practices, and delivery approaches. A strong focus is placed on operational excellence, automation, DevOps, Agile delivery, security, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with business leaders, architects, product owners, project teams, and technology partners to drive successful outcomes. - Application development: Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of software applications while ensuring high-quality and timely delivery across the full SDLC.
- Technical leadership: Review technical designs, architecture decisions, development approaches, and technology solutions to ensure they are scalable, secure, resilient, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements.
- Application modernization: Manage technical debt and identify opportunities to modernize applications, improve architecture, and enhance long-term technology sustainability.
- Technology advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, providing guidance on application strategy, architecture, integration, development frameworks, emerging technologies, and solution options.
- Engineering excellence: Promote engineering best practices, automation, DevOps, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and modern development practices to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
- Strategic planning: Contribute to technology roadmaps, strategic planning, solution evaluations, project estimation, prioritization, and resource forecasting.
- Stakeholder management: Partner with business leaders, project managers, architects, product owners, vendors, and delivery teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.
- Project delivery: Communicate project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies clearly while supporting decision-making, prioritization, and issue resolution across cross-functional teams.
- Application support: Oversee application support activities, service-level performance, complex incident resolution, production issues, and the overall health, performance, and availability of applications.
- Operational excellence: Drive root cause analysis and preventive and corrective actions while ensuring effective change, release, deployment, and environment management practices.
- Risk and compliance: Ensure applications and technology initiatives meet security, risk management, audit, regulatory, and governance requirements while promoting secure software development and vulnerability management.
- Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve development processes, application performance, delivery efficiency, automation, cloud adoption, and engineering practices.
- Innovation and metrics: Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, introduce relevant innovations, and establish meaningful development and application performance metrics.
- Application development expertise: Strong experience across software development, technical design, application implementation, production support, and the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Technical leadership: Demonstrated ability to evaluate architecture, integration approaches, development frameworks, and emerging technologies and translate them into practical business solutions.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to connect technology decisions with business objectives, contribute to technology roadmaps, and provide credible technical advice to senior stakeholders.
- Engineering practices: Strong understanding of Agile and modern software engineering practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, automation, application modernization, and cloud adoption.
- Stakeholder management: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with business leaders, product owners, architects, project managers, vendors, and technology teams.
