Job Summary

The Veterinary Clinical Liaison (VCL) I is a clinical liaison team member focused on teleradiology case intake, preparation, and coordination. This role supports veterinary clinic partners, radiologists, customer support, technical teams, and internal teams by reviewing diagnostic imaging submissions for completeness, quality, required information, documentation accuracy, and readiness for radiologist interpretation.

The VCL I supports case-level workflow by troubleshooting submission concerns, communicating documentation needs, maintaining accurate case notes, escalating concerns appropriately, and helping protect turnaround-time expectations. The role focuses on foundational clinical liaison responsibilities and reliable case preparation rather than direct people-management responsibilities. VCL I team members may support shift-level workflow needs through queue awareness, timely escalation, peer questions, and communication during busy periods within assigned responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

• Review imaging submissions for completeness, image quality, required information, documentation accuracy, and readiness for radiologist interpretation.
• Serve as a coordination point between radiologists, customer support, technical teams, veterinary clinic partners, and internal teams within assigned responsibilities.
• Support teleradiology case intake, preparation, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation.
• Monitor incoming case queues within assigned responsibilities and identify documentation gaps, quality concerns, technical issues, or delays that may affect turnaround time or case readiness.
• Troubleshoot platform and image issues related to case submission, file transfer, and image quality, escalating as appropriate.
• Utilize internal systems including Salesforce, RIS, Microsoft 365, and live chat tools to manage cases and communications.
• Maintain detailed documentation of case activity, client communication, and internal follow-up.
• Understand triage considerations for urgent and critical case submission.
• Escalate clinical, technical, documentation, or workflow concerns to senior staff, the Shift Lead, or the Veterinary Clinical Liaison Manager when appropriate.
• Maintain responsiveness, sound judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and urgency in a fast-paced remote environment.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

Required

• Associate's degree from an AVMA-accredited school, or equivalent veterinary clinical experience as approved by leadership and HR.
• Veterinary technician or veterinary technologist credential such as LVT, CVT, RVT, RVN, or equivalent credentialing/experience as approved by leadership and HR.
• Minimum 3 years of veterinary clinical experience.
• Experience with proper radiographic technique.
• Working knowledge of anatomy, diagnostic imaging, and veterinary medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to review medical documentation and imaging submissions quickly, accurately, and thoroughly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable internet bandwidth of 100-300 Mbps and the ability to maintain a professional remote work environment.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced remote environment with urgency, accuracy, sound judgment, and professionalism.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced veterinary clinical experience.
• Exposure to advanced imaging modalities such as ultrasound, CT, or MRI.
• Emergency, specialty, diagnostic imaging, or teleradiology experience.
• Experience using radiology, teleradiology, PACS, RIS, or advanced imaging workflow systems.

Cognitive and Physical Demands

• This remote role requires extended periods of sitting, typing, computer-based work, and viewing multiple screens while managing teleradiology workflows, multitasking, and responding to priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to review and interpret medical documentation and imaging submission details quickly, thoroughly, and accurately.
• Continuous written and digital communication with veterinary clinics and internal teams.
• Remote work requiring sustained focus and independent workflow management.

Working Conditions

• Fully remote position.
• Computer-based work environment with high case volume.
• VCR provides required computer equipment and monitors and partial reimbursement for internet service. Employees must maintain stable high-speed internet and a professional home office environment with minimal background noise to ensure effective communication and productivity.
• Workload may fluctuate based on clinical case volume and urgency.
