Intermediate Appian Developer

Location: Russell-Knox Building (RKB) - Quantico, VA
PWS Task Area: PWS 2.3 - Appian Support
Required Clearance: Active Top Secret
Certifications: None required; Appian Associate, Senior, or Lead Developer preferred
Required Education: High school diploma or GED.

Required Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience planning, developing, and delivering Appian interfaces, processes, data models, records, and integrated solutions.
Position Description

Ailani Wind Joint Venture is seeking an Intermediate Appian Developer to design, develop, configure, integrate, test, and sustain Appian applications supporting DAF mission and business processes. The developer builds secure interfaces, workflows, records, reports, data models, and integrations for IL5 and IL6 environments.
Working within an Agile and DevSecOps delivery team, this position collaborates with users and technical stakeholders, resolves defects, supports UAT, and maintains the documentation needed for reliable application operation and enhancement.

Primary Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
• Analyze user stories and requirements and participate in refinement, estimation, solution design, and technical planning.
• Develop Appian Process Modeler workflows using Smart Services, gateways, subprocesses, exception handling, and reusable patterns.
• Develop responsive SAIL interfaces, forms, dashboards, reports, records, and reusable components.
• Configure Appian Records and Data Fabric capabilities and create relational data models, CDTs, queries, and data-access logic.
• Integrate Appian with MariaDB, Oracle, SQL-based data sources, JSON services, Web APIs, and Connected Systems.
• Implement CUI, PII, role-based and row-level security, auditability, and approved DAF security controls.
• Follow coding, documentation, source-control, review, testing, deployment, and release-management standards.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests; support UAT and resolve defects to achieve acceptable release quality.
• Troubleshoot application, process, interface, data, integration, security, and performance issues and document corrective actions.
• Participate in peer reviews, demonstrations, release activities, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain design, interface, data, configuration, security, test, release, user, and sustainment documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Appian process design, Smart Services, gateways, subprocesses, exception handling, and reusable process patterns.
• Advanced SAIL development and UI/UX skills for interfaces, forms, reports, dashboards, and reusable components.
• Knowledge of Appian Records, Data Fabric, relational databases, CDTs, queries, and data modeling.
• Experience integrating Appian through JSON, Web APIs, Connected Systems, and enterprise data sources.
• Knowledge of IL5/IL6 development, CUI/PII protection, role-based and row-level security, and DAF compliance requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with users and technical teams, document work clearly, and deliver defect-free UAT outcomes.

Desired Qualifications

• Current Appian Associate Developer or Senior Developer certification.
• Experience developing Appian solutions in DAF, DoW, IL5, or IL6 environments.
• Experience with Agile delivery, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and application lifecycle management.
• Experience with reusable SAIL components, Appian performance tuning, and accessible user-interface design.

Salary Range

$76K -105K

The pay range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
