PACKER / WRAPPER at UNIVERSAL FURNITURE – Conover, North Carolina

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assemble, line, and pad shipping boxes.
• Pack upholstered furniture into shipping boxes and apply product label to the boxes.
• Seal shipping boxes using box stapler and tape gun or feed into automatic tape machine.
• Offload sealed boxes from packing line onto pallets.
• Remove defective products or materials, placing them in specified areas.

Requirements:

Must be knowledgeable in packing processes.

• Must have ability to recognize parts and style numbers.
• English required for reading tickets and instructions.
• Must be able to understand and follow packing specifications.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend over repeatedly, and stand for the duration of the shift.
• Able to work independently with little supervision.
• Time management skills to complete work within given deadlines.
• Detail oriented with a focus on quality.

Physical Demands:

• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items between 5 and 50 pounds.
