Storage Tank Design Detailer in Loveland, Colorado at Tanco Engineering

• Successfully support Tanco's project managers (PMs), shop, and field crews in terms of design/drafting support for above ground storage tanks and storage tank repair parts.

Expectations:

• Be self-sufficient with the ability to perform a wide range of tasks with minimal supervision.
• Be a technical expert on API 650/653/620, AWWA D100, OSHA, NFPA, etc.
• Have sound math skills to properly calculate different geometry and trigonometry parameters, without the reliance of CAD layout.
• Answer questions from the field Foreman concerning code issues (drawing discrepancies, weld spacing, material types, etc.).
• Interpret and implement client specifications into tank drawings, and ensure compliance with all tank standard details.
• Support TANCO’s shop manager with posting burn table drawings as needed.
• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to and work harmoniously with field/shop personnel, management, and the project managerial staff.
• Have, at a minimum, a basic understanding of excel spreadsheets.
• Be an expert on, use, and help continuously improve TANCO’s storage tank drawings and related tools.

• Minimum of 5 years experience of drafting/detailing experience.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Flat bottom tank detailing experience in accordance with API 650 and API 653 preferred.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented professional with experience in industrial drafting and storage tank design. They should be comfortable working closely with project managers, fabrication personnel, and field crews to ensure project success from concept through construction.
