Job Description

Position Description: Implementation Engineer (Contractor) – FactoryLogix MES
Aegis Software | Independent Contractor (1099) | Remote, United States

ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT
Aegis Software is engaging experienced independent contractors to deliver FactoryLogix MES implementations for manufacturing customers, as demand for our software implementations grows. You'll act as the technical consultant on projects you accept: configuring, installing, deploying and integrating Aegis software so it meets the customer's business requirements and runs smoothly in their infrastructure or on a pre-configured cloud instance. Engagements cover the whole implementation lifecycle, from needs assessment and planning through go-live and handoff to support.

This engagement is for an independent, self-directed professional. You decide how and when the work gets done, solve complex deployment problems as they arise, and are accountable for results against each project's scope documents and success criteria.

ENGAGEMENT TERMS
Structure: Individual independent contractor (1099). A signed W-9 is required before work starts.
Length: Ongoing, reviewed annually by both parties.
Hours: No fixed or minimum hours. Work is offered based on project demand, and you choose which projects to accept.
Location: Remote, anywhere in the United States. Customer site visits as projects require.
Travel: Up to 50% on accepted projects. Reasonable travel expenses are reimbursable as set out in the contractor agreement.
Rate: $/per billable hour based on experience
Invoicing: Monthly invoice for hours delivered, supported by the billable hours recorded in Aegis's project system. Payment terms per the contractor agreement.
Agreement: All terms are governed by a written Independent Contractor Agreement. (ICA)

Scope of Work
On each accepted project, deliverables are defined in the project's scope documents. Typical deliverables include:
• Customer requirements: Work with customer executives and end users to understand their business needs and translate requirements into system configurations.
• Installation and configuration: Install, configure and tailor the software to the customer's workflows, in line with the project's business goals.
• Integration and readiness: Integrate the software with the customer's existing systems. Before deployment, provide clear guidance so validation and testing are completed ahead of rollout.
• Issue resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues during and after implementation. When an issue can't be resolved right away, document the work done, collect logs and enter clear ticket notes so it can be driven to resolution.
• End-user training: Deliver training built around real-world scenarios so users retain what they learn and adopt the system. Aegis training materials are available; you may adapt them to the customer's workflows.
• Documentation: Produce implementation checklists, user guides, quick-start guides, meeting agendas and similar project materials. Submit activity reports of completed work for customer sign-off.
• Project coordination: Coordinate with the Aegis Project Manager assigned to each project on milestones, deliverables and handoff to support. Technical escalations go to Aegis lead implementation engineers.
• Billable time records: Record billable hours and reimbursable expenses in Aegis's project system so Aegis can invoice its customers.

Qualifications

Required
• 5+ years in software implementation, MES/ERP deployment or related technical consulting, including at least two full-lifecycle MES implementations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (queries, scripts)
• Experience deploying to or administering cloud environments (Azure or AWS)
• Experience integrating MES with ERP systems and shop-floor equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills: able to analyze system issues and determine how to resolve them
• Excellent written and spoken communication with customers and internal teams
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor who translates business needs into technical solutions
• Proven ability to deliver independently with minimal oversight
• Able to travel up to 50% on accepted projects

Preferred
• Hands-on FactoryLogix experience
