Staff Accountant in Pacoima, California at MOC Products Group LLC

The staff accountant will support the accounting team across a range of day-to-day functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, close support, AP/AR backup, and day-to-day QuickBooks bookkeeping for the entities still maintained on that platform. This role has broader exposure across the department than an entry-level position, with the expectation that the person can work through routine accounting tasks with a reasonable degree of independence while still developing toward more complex, judgment-based work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting

– Prepare and post routine journal entries

– Perform bank and GL account reconciliations

– Support month-end close tasks, including account cleanup and supporting schedules

QuickBooks Support

– Own day-to-day QuickBooks bookkeeping for the entities currently maintained on that platform — recording transactions, reconciliations, and general upkeep

AP/AR — Backup Only

– Provide backup support for AP/AR — invoice coding, payment processing, cash application

Recordkeeping

– Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation

– Support data entry and recordkeeping in Microsoft Dynamics 365

Audit & Tax Support

– Gather and organize supporting documentation for audits and tax filings

Projects & Rotation

– Assist with special projects and process improvements as assigned by the Assistant Controller

– Rotate across different accounting functions to build broader departmental exposure

Required

– 1–3 years of accounting experience

– Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end close mechanics

– QuickBooks experience helpful

– Proficiency in Excel

– Strong attention to detail and ability to work with moderate supervision

– Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple routine tasks

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

– Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or another ERP system

– Exposure to multi-entity or manufacturing accounting environments
