Director Patient Care at RWJBarnabas Health – New Brunswick, New Jersey

Assumes responsibility for the overall functioning Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Morris Cancer Center and RWJUH with 24/7 accountability to ensure that it is operationalized safely and completely,

Coordinates and oversees the Perianesthesia nursing care practice area in conjunction with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital,

Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia and the management team to identify needs and improve services,

Ensures compliance with Quality Improvement activities, and HRO standards and develops performance improvement ideas,

Implements patient care standards, orientation and continuing education,

Ensures the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations,

Requirements:

Current and active NJ RN Licensure required,

CPAN National Certification preferred,

BSN Degree required,

MSN Preferred

Two to three years experience in Perianesthesia Nursing,

Two years leadership experience preferred,

BLS Certification required,

ACLS Certification required

Strong critical thinking and assessment skills,

Demonstrated Leadership skills,

Goal and outcome oriented,

Financial Acumen

Excellent verbal and written communications,

Strong Computer skills,

Ability to quickly learn surgical software,

Organizational skills,
