Position Summary

The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation in hotel guest rooms, common areas, and other assigned facilities such as the marina or community buildings. The Housekeeper plays a key role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and sanitary environment for all guests and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to established standards.
  
  

• Change bed linens, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities.
  
  

• Dust, sweep, vacuum, mop, and polish furniture, floors, and fixtures.
  
  

• Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste.
  
  

• Report any maintenance issues, damage, or missing items promptly to management.
  
  

• Restock housekeeping carts and storage areas with supplies.
  
  

• Ensure all cleaning chemicals are handled and stored safely following WHMIS guidelines.
  
  

• Perform deep cleaning duties periodically as assigned.
  
  

• Respond to guest requests for additional items or services courteously and promptly.
  
  

• Assist with cleaning and upkeep of the marina or other designated community or administrative buildings as required.
  
  

• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
  
  

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and take pride in presenting all facilities to the highest standard.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred but not required (training provided).
  
  

• WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  
  

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  

• Good organizational and time management skills.
  
  

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and stretch for extended periods.
  
  

• Flexibility to assist with special projects or cleaning assignments outside the hotel (such as marina, office buildings, or event spaces).
  
  

• Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and staff.
  
  

Work Environment:

• Hotel setting with occasional work at marina facilities or other properties.
  
  

• Fast-paced environment requiring physical stamina and attention to detail.
  
  

• Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts may be required depending on guest and event needs.
