About This Position
The Clinical RN exemplifies the principles of a Culture of Safety by committing to a Just Culture, a Reporting Culture, Learning Culture, and an Engaged Informed Culture. The CHH2 Adult Ambulatory Oncology Infusion Clinic at OHSU primarily serves patients within Hematology Oncology, Medical Oncology and Classical Hematology. We collaborate with KCI Ambulatory Oncology Clinics, Dietitians, Pharmacy, Social Work, Case Management and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team to provide exceptional oncology care for our patients and community. Our teams support programs that include, but are not limited to, the Hepatic Arterial Infusion Pump program, Phase I Clinical Trials, and the OHSU Cellular therapy programs.
Responsibilities
The RN must meet one oncology provider qualification:
- ONS Chemotherapy/ Biotherapy provider card upon hire.
- Oregon Health and Science University NCI Collaborative Systemic Cancer Therapies for the Oncology Nurse course.
- Oregon Health and Science University NCI Collaborative 2-year renewal course.
The RN must hold one Professional certification or meet Commission on Cancer education requirements:
- Current cancer-specific certification in the nurse’s specialty (OCN, BMTCN, etc.) by an accredited certification program.
- Completion of 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours each accreditation cycle, per Commission on Cancer requirements.
- BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
- ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
- Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
- Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
- BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- BLS must not expire during orientation
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
