Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) Prestamos is an award-winning Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity that has been empowering small business owners in underserved communities since 1980. Today, Prestamos provides loan products, business consulting services, and investment opportunities across Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.

As a Business Development Officer, you will drive the growth of Prestamos by leading the strategy and execution of loan origination across multiple programs.

You will:

• Develop and implement strategies to expand small business lending, including micro-loans, private loan pools, and NMTC loans

• Build and maintain a strong referral network with business bankers, commercial real estate brokers, accountants, attorneys, and other key partners

• Identify and cultivate new lending opportunities within the marketplace

• Structure complex loan proposals, conduct initial financial analysis, and prepare credit packages

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient workflows and successful deal execution

• Play a key role in expanding access to capital for underserved communities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education /Background:

Candidate should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or a combination of education and 5+ years’ experience in commercial lending/analysis

• Proven track record in business development and loan origination
• Strong understanding of micro-loans, private loan pools, SBA 7a Community Advantage Loans
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and assess credit risk
