Position Title: Quality Engineer Level I
Position type: Full Time M-F
Pay range: DOE
Description of responsibilities:
The Quality Engineer supports the Quality Team by ensuring compliance with customer requirements, maintaining quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This role is instrumental in process optimization, audits, corrective actions, and documentation management, ensuring the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance.
Quality Engineer Duties
- Assist in maintaining MMP’s quality management system to ensure compliance with internal and customer-specific requirements.
- Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related concerns to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to facilitate efficient product transitions into production.
- Provide technical support to quality inspectors, ensuring proper interpretation of customer specifications and requirements.
- Perform internal audits, closing audit findings, creating audit reports, and defining corrective actions.
- Analyze failure trends, corrective and preventive actions, and develop responses to customer concerns.
- Create and maintain quality documentation, ensuring compliance with company and customer standards.
- Oversee supplier-related activities, including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and compliance tracking.
- Maintain customer-specific documents and participate in customer visits, audits, and process reviews.
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Helps ensure strict adherence to customer service standards and satisfaction programs.
- Promotes clear communication of quality expectations among associates and suppliers.
- Assists in the rapid resolution of customer quality-related complaints.
- Ensures timely and professional handling of customer and supplier inquiries.
Safety, Loss Prevention, and Procedural Compliance
- Supports initiatives to achieve associate safety and loss prevention goals.
- Reinforces adherence to company safety procedures and programs to maintain a compliant and secure work environment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Communicates with management to ensure operational compliance with company standards and policies.
- Compiles and tracks rejection data, providing reports and analysis as needed.
Required education/experience:
- 4-year degree in Engineering strongly preferred, 2 year technical degree considered
- Experience/education in quality inspection, preferably within manufacturing or machining environments.
- Working knowledge of AS9102 FAIR and PPAP documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with customer-specific quality requirements and auditing processes.
Required skills:
- Strong attention to detail with expertise in visual and dimensional inspection techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and specifications.
- Familiarity with ERP systems for quality tracking and reporting.
- Comprehension of ISO/AS quality standards and compliance processes.
