Job Description

  • JOB RELATIONSHIPS
    • Responsible to Cardiopulmonary Services Clinical Director.
  • DEFINITION OF POSITION
    • An Echocardiography Technician who is responsible for performing echocardiograms, electrocardiograms and stress tests.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional
      • Demonstrates competence as an Echocardiography Technician.
      • Minimum of rotation in a program for cardiac ultrasound and knowledge of EKG testing and interpretation.
      • Familiarity with medical terminology.
      • Must strive to continue educational process either formal or inservice.
      • Knowledge of current trends and techniques.
      • Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
      • Good verbal / written skills.
    • Working Conditions
      • Generally comfortable surroundings.
      • Extensive walking and standing.
      • Variable work hours expected (4-12 shifts).
      • Exposure to infectious diseases.
      • Exposure to radiation.
      • Moderate noise.
      • Exposure to air borne particles.
      • Exposure to caustic chemicals.
      • Risk of electrical shock.
