We are currently seeking a:
HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR
Full Time, Days
JOB SUMMARY:
- Provide orientation for new HIM employees of LHRS facilities.
- Conduct facility HIM site visits at least every 6 months, providing facility with visit summary of recommendations via a typed report which includes a score indicating compliance.
- Conduct targeted site reviews for key facilities on a monthly basis. Key facilities will be determined by reviewing the highest most critical indicators.
- Perform on-site and off-site documentation analysis, report findings to facility staff and Administrator and DON when required/necessary.
- Monitor documentation compliance for all facilities, providing recommendations for on-going deficient areas, communicating with facility HIM, Administrator and DON as required.
- Monitor the facility’s compliance with the standard policies and procedures implemented by Liberty Healthcare and Rehab Services.
- Respond to questions by facility staff concerning policies and procedures according to federal/state requirements and current standards of practice.
- Work with other departments as needed to improve documentation quality or to improve the process in which we conduct business.
- Attend quarterly Company Compliance meetings, reporting HIM statistical data and accomplished projects.
- Train and provide guidance to Practitioners (MD/NP/PA) involving physician engagement software.
- Attend LHRS meetings/conference calls to report HIM updates.
- Attends educational sessions pertinent to LTC HIM.
- Attend educational sessions pertinent to LTC HIM.
- Assist with coordinating annual HIM meetings.
- Assist HIM departments during extended facility HIM staff absence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a high school graduate with 1-3 years of relevant experience in a LTC setting preferred
- Must be a Registered Health Information Administrator/RHIA (BS) or Registered Health Information Technologist/RHIT (AAS), AHIMA Certification required
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and skilled nursing facility regulations
- Must be dependable, flexible, and able to work and cooperate well with all HIM staff, other departments and have understanding, patience, and tact in working with practitioners and others.
- Must be able to teach, instruct and direct orientation.
- Professional communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and detail-oriented
- Excellent computer skills
- Must have a valid N.C. driver’s license.
- Must have neat professional appearance at all times.
- Extensive traveling to include overnight stays will be expected
