Job Summary:
- Assists the Operations Manager in planning, organizing and directing the provision of medical record services within the department. Performs quality control to ensure integrity, completeness and legibility of scanned patient health information. Validates the paper record to scanned images to ensure a complete legible record. Serves as the HIM subject matter expert to all staff and acts as the liaison between HIM and other departments. Assists providers with electronic records issues.

Education:
- This position requires a minimum of an Associate Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) in an accredited program.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required within 1 year of job assignment.

Experience:
- Position requires a minimum of 3 years related experience.

Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
- Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work assignments.
- Proficiency in computer and data management skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements including Microsoft Office Suite products--specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Familiarity with HIM desktop applications and devices e.g. MPI, Incomplete ROI, Analyst, Scanning, Transcriptionist etc., preferred.
- Maintain skills necessary to perform all tasks in the HIM Department.
- Ability and willingness to perform other related duties and assignments.
