About This Position

• Reports to the Director of Youth & Community Engagement.

• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with staff, parents, and representatives from funding/accrediting agencies, school faculty, related community agencies, and other programs within Ibero.

• Prepares performance appraisals, and reviews with supervisor.

• Represents the Director of Youth & Community Engagement in community-wide initiatives where Ibero representation is required, as assigned.

• Assures compliance with the agency's rules and regulations and performance standards.

• Maintains a high level of communication with all stakeholders and contacts.

• Support direct reports to meet performance objectives.

• Prepares all required program reports for restorative initiative programs including end-of-year program reports.

• Oversee the delivery of culturally sensitive evidence-based programs to youth and families within RCSD.

• Plan, implement, and evaluate restorative practices including, educational training and coaching for staff and students.

• Advocate for youth and families from many racial, ethnic, cultural, and sexual orientations backgrounds.

• Assists with staff professional development yearly schedule.

• Must be accessible, some evenings and weekends are required.

• Any other duties as may be assigned by Ibero's President & CEO, Supervisor, and/or delegates.

Authority:

This position holds a relatively high degree of independence within the framework of the agency's policies and procedures. The individual must be resourceful and able to display initiative and understanding of management systems and interpersonal relations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with at least 2 years' experience in management and supervision or Associate degree in education and 5 years' experience in human services with 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience and training in Restorative Practices prefer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent development including positive youth development, risk, and protective factors, harm reduction, asset development, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience working with children and youth 5 – 21 years old and their families.
  • Experience working in a community setting including an understanding of urban culture.
  • Ability to speak positively and respectfully to the youth and their families.
  • Must have clearance through NYS Central Registry, and a good police record.
  • Valid NYS license and access to own transportation.
  • A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be accepted by the President and CEO

Compensation range: $19-24
